FAQs

Is it free?
Yes, it is absolutely free!

Is it confidential?
REFS maintain confidentiality – all conversations are held in strict confidence and action will only be taken with your permission, except in the unusual situation of imminent risk of serious harm to self or others, or when required to do so by law.

Do you talk about less serious problems too?
Indeed. No matter how big or small your problem, feel free to contact one of us!

How do I become a REFS?
You can nominate yourself or others here

I tried contacting one of the REFS but did not get a response.
We all try our utmost best to be in constant email contact; however, there are situations (conferences, internships, vacation, etc.) that make this impossible. If you do not hear back from a REFS member, please either contact another member or send an email to the entire group.

What is mediation?
Mediation is a completely voluntary and confidential process that helps two or more people in conflict clarify their issues and goals, communicate about the situation, and try to reach constructive resolution. Mediators do not make decisions about who is right or wrong, or how things should be resolved. All decisions are made by the parties, who are also free to leave anytime during the mediation process.

PLEASE NOTE
